Ongoing Infiltration of Key Sectors of the Progressive Movement

Not sure everyone has been keeping up with the reports surfacing almost daily pertaining to US government and military infiltration of the anti-war movement and also of the anarchist communities doing political work ranging widely from environmental justice, to Latin America and Palestinian solidarity.

As every other fascist government in history, the present US regime is clearly committed to not only undermining and destroying efforts in civil society to create cohesive networks of resistance to injustice and for alternative thought, but also to foment fear and insecurity among civil society about involvement in such activities...

When even those you thought were your comrades turn out to be narcs, then everyone is suspect and we should perhaps not get involved or resist openly...This, in my view, is one of the most dangerous, but also desired end results of any campaign of political persecution by the fascist state.

What happened in Chicago recently, in Olympia and Austin last year, and in Oakland a few months ago is not new. It should surprise no one. But we must perhaps consider a re-prioritizing of the struggle against illegal state sponsored covert actions against activist communities. We must raise this issue into the forefront of our struggle and expose the Obama administration for sponsoring policies of infiltration, undermining of activities, intimidation and entrapment carried out against community activists and civil society organizations by military and "civilian" intelligence agencies.

And if you think you are not affected because the core of the Obama administration repression is being aimed at "fringe radical environmentalists", "antisemitic, islamist sympathizers" or the the very much liberal maligned "anarchist" movement, think again...

In the words of Martin Niemoller:

"We preferred to keep silent. We are certainly not without guilt/fault, and I ask myself again and again, what would have happened,if in the year 1933 or 1934 -there must have been a possibility -14,000 Protestant pastors and all Protestant communities in Germany had defended the truth until their deaths? If we had said back then, it is not right when Hermann Göring simply puts 100,000 Communists in the concentration camps, in order to let them die. I can imagine that perhaps 30,000 to 40,000 Protestant Christians would have had their heads cut off, but I can also imagine that we would have rescued 30-40,000 million people, because that is what it is costing us now."
